Microwave S'mores

This has become something of an addiction with me lately.  I DO keep myself under some sort of control, though, by limiting myself to one/day!  :0)  Also, I must admit these are NOT as good as the ones made around a campfire, or in the fire in your fireplace, because you don’t get that smokey taste and the marshmallow doesn’t get brown and crispy (or burnt :0) ) on the outside…but these definitely fit the bill when a fire isn’t readily available.

A S'more; melted marshmallow and milk chocolat...
Image via Wikipedia

1 graham cracker – broken into two 2 squares

1 large marshmallow

1 small, “snack size” Hershey’s chocolate bar

- on a paper towel, place one of the graham cracker squares

- break the snack size chocolate bar in half and arrange the halves on top of the graham cracker

- place the marshmallow on top of the chocolate

- place this in the microwave and set it for 15 seconds

- watch the S’more cook!  As the marshmallow ‘grows’ (the size it can get to is truly amazing), it will probably fall off the chocolate AND the graham cracker.  Stop the microwave and place it back on the chocolate and push down a bit

- start micro again ….when the marshmallow looks like it’s pretty warm and “melty” (right around 15 secs but I’m sure this can vary with microwaves) – open the micro, place the other graham cracker square on top of the marshmallow, and flatten it.

- ENJOY!  (note: it’ll be gooey and delicious and the melted marshmallow will overflow the graham crackers – unlike the picture above!)
